Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Marlène Chénard Limited ("I", "me", "my", "the Company") collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal data when you visit marlenechenard.com (the "Site") or use my services.

I am based in the United Kingdom, and this policy is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. I work with clients internationally, including in the UK, the EU, and the US.

By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Who I am (Data Controller)

For the purposes of data protection law, the data controller is:

Marlène Chénard Limited
Company number: 13240958
Registered office: 60 Tottenham Court Road, Suite 6488a, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 2EW
Email: hello@marlenechenard.com

Marlène Chénard Limited trades as marlenechenard.com. If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, this is the entity to contact.

2. Information I collect

Information you give me directly

  • Contact details — name, email address, and any information you share when you fill out the enquiry form (Tally), email me, or book a call.
  • Newsletter subscription — your email address, if you sign up.
  • Payment information — if you purchase a Visibility Review or other paid service, payment is processed securely by Stripe. I never see or store your full card details; Stripe handles this directly under its own security standards (Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant). I retain records of the transaction itself — amount, date, service purchased — for accounting and legal purposes.
  • Correspondence — anything you tell me by email, through the enquiry form, or during a consultation call, including project details, business goals, or website information you share so I can do the work.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — via Google Analytics: pages visited, time on site, approximate location (city/country level), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the Site.
  • Technical data — IP address (used only in anonymised/aggregated form via Analytics), browser type and version, time zone setting, operating system.

Information from third parties
I don't purchase or receive data about you from third-party data brokers. Any information I hold about you comes either directly from you, or from the tools listed above.

4. Advertising and marketing

I do not run advertising or remarketing campaigns of any kind, and I do not use your data to build advertising audiences. I do not sell your personal data to anyone.

5. Who I share your data with

I use a small number of trusted third-party services to run my business, each of which processes data on my behalf, under their own privacy and security terms:

  • Tally — for the enquiry/contact form
  • Stripe — for payment processing
  • Google Analytics — for website analytics
  • Newsletter provider (to be confirmed) — for sending the newsletter, if you subscribe

I don't share your data with any other third party for their own purposes, and I don't sell it. If my business is ever sold or restructured, your data may be transferred to the new owner as part of that transaction, and you'd be notified.

6. Links to other websites

The Site may contain links to other websites. I'm not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. I encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any information to them.

7. International data transfers

Some of the third-party services I use (including Google Analytics and Stripe) may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. These providers maintain their own safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to keep your data protected to UK standards.

8. How long I keep your data

  • Enquiry form submissions: kept for as long as needed to respond to you, and for a reasonable follow-up period — typically no longer than 24 months, unless we go on to work together.
  • Client/project records: kept for the duration of our working relationship plus a period afterward as required for accounting and legal purposes (typically 6 years).
  • Newsletter subscribers: kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Analytics data: retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings.

9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing of, and request portability of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@marlenechenard.com. I'll respond within one month, as required by law. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

10. Data security

I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including relying on reputable, secure third-party providers rather than storing sensitive data myself. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

12. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
